Reptile Control: All in a Day’s Work for R.B. Hinkle Employee
You may remember “Billy the Exterminator” from the A&E pest control reality TV show of the same name.
But you’ve probably never heard of “Kevin the Exterminator” from R.B. Hinkle Construction. That’s because he just came into being last week.
It started as a normal workday for Kevin Bonilla. He and fellow R.B. Hinkle crew members were replacing underground cable in a residential neighborhood. When the owner of the house in front of which they were working came home, Bonilla noticed her vehicle entering the driveway and the garage, but never gave it a second thought.
Seconds later, though, she came running out of the garage, shrieking, “HELP ME!” at the top of her lungs, as if the world was coming to an end.
“When she finally stopped yelling she said there was a snake in her garage, I was picturing a little garter snake,” Bonilla said.
Instead, what he found when he went inside was a four-foot black snake coiled under the steps that led from the garage to the house. Nonetheless, Kevin rose to the occasion, disposing of the snake so the woman could safely re-enter.
As a result, R.B. Hinkle awarded Kevin their Safety Excellence Award for going above and beyond the call of his normal work duties to keep this homeowner safe!
